Best-man Speech (skeleton) by Steven Murombe
(Names changed to protect the innocent)

This evening, it is my great honour and privilege to make the first toast to A and B as husband and wife. On behalf of A Family, I welcome B into the family. I hope your union will bring closer ties to both families, with you newly weds acting as buffers.

Vote of thanks to: -------------------------------------------------------------------

B please place your hand on the table in front of you. Now A put your hand on top of bride’s. Now I want everybody in the room to bear witness to the last time that bridegroom has the upper hand!

A & B, (the adorable couple) I love you both very much! You two have been valuable friends to me longer than you've been dating -- which is a very long time! I have seen you both grow as individuals and flourish as a couple. Individually you two are special, remarkable people -- but together you are complete. Today we celebrate everything you have found in each other a best friend, a lover, a companion, and a true partner -- for life. May your marriage be modern enough to survive the times and old fashioned enough to last forever.

The recipe for marriage needs but only one ingredient, and that is (mutual respect) and then, and only then, you can live happily ever after

My Greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least.

''Congratulations on the termination of your isolation, and may I express my appreciation of your determination to end the desperation and frustration that has caused you so much consternation in giving you the inspiration to make this unification and bring an accumulation to the population. So as I end my toast to this occasion, and wrap up my salutation, I raise my glass to this combination, and bid good luck to the consummation! So cheers, and on with the celebration!'

Please join me in a toast: To love, laughter and happily ever after! To the bride & groom
